Event Overview:
Dates: Monday, August 3rd – Friday, August 7th, 2026
Primary Venue: CTF 105 Auditorium, Kyambogo University
Theme: "Building a Foundation for Success and Community"
Kyambogo University invites all first-year students ("Freshers") to a week-long
orientation program aimed at providing essential information, academic guidance,
and a warm welcome to the university family. This week is a critical first step
for students to navigate campus systems, understand university policies, and
connect with their respective faculties.
1. Official University Orientation Program
Scheduled daily from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM at the CTF 105 Auditorium, the program
features sessions with key university officials and administrative heads:
- Administrative Insights (Mon-Wed): Meet the Dean of Students, Academic
Registrar, University Secretary, and heads of essential services like
Security, Medical Services, Guidance & Counseling, and the ICT Directorate.
- Academic Faculty Days (Thu-Fri): Dedicated sessions where Deans from all
Schools and Faculties (e.g., Management, Education, Engineering, Science,
Art & Design) will introduce students to their specific academic tracks.
- Student Leadership: The week concludes with a session led by the Guild
Leadership and the Chairperson Convocation to introduce students to campus
governance and alumni relations.
2. Spiritual Welcome: Uganda Martyrs’ Catholic Chaplaincy (UMCC)
Complementing the administrative orientation, the Uganda Martyrs’ Catholic
Chaplaincy welcomes new students into its "faith-filled family" at UMCC
Kyambogo. The Chaplaincy offers a "home away from home" through spiritual growth
and fellowship.
- Mass Schedule:
- Weekdays: Daily Mass at 6:00 PM and Lunch Hour Mass at 1:00 PM.
- Saturdays: Morning Mass at 8:00 AM.
- Sundays: Two morning services at 7:30 AM and 9:00 AM.
- Getting Involved: Freshers are encouraged to join various student-led
groups, including:
- Choirs: Seraphim Choir, All Saints Choir, and Divine Angels Worship
Team.
- Movements & Communities: Uganda Martyrs Guild, Prolife Movement, CCR,
and hall-based communities like Nanziri Mandela and St. Joseph
Northhall.
- Devotions: Regular Rosary, Eucharistic Adoration, Holy Hour, and Divine
Mercy Chaplet.
